Rail Vehicles / Tracks

The Bristle Blaster® is widely utilised in the construction of new and the repair and maintenance of used railway vehicles. Its great portability and short set-up times means real time savings can be gained when preparing damage to carriages. Rail track butt-welds have been treated with the Bristle Blaster® to minimise fatigue stress cracking.

Surface preparation grades comparable with SA 2.5–3 and roughness levels of up to 120 µm Rz – like those achieved with blasting – are obtained. Unlike with compressed-air blasting, no unwanted by-products arise with Bristle Blasting and the level of dust produced is also minimal. This makes the Bristle Blaster® perfect for touch-up work inside as well.

The MBX® and Die Blaster® are used for preparation of carriage bodies including window channels.
